Government Contracting
Your capability statement is your one-page business resume for government buyers.
It's what you send when a contracting officer asks, "What does your company do?" It's what you attach to your first outreach email. It's what you hand to potential partners at industry days.
Most capability statements are terrible.
They're either too vague ("We provide comprehensive solutions") or too detailed (three pages of every service you've ever offered). They use corporate jargon instead of clear language. They don't answer the question every buyer is asking: "Why should I care about your company?"

The Anatomy of a Strong Capability Statement
Company Overview — Who you are in 2-3 sentences. Keep it clear, not clever.
Core Competencies — What you do best, 4-6 bullet points. Be specific, not generic.
Differentiators — Why you, not your competitor. Military background? Specialized certification? Geographic advantage? Say it.
Past Performance — Proof you've done this before. Even small projects count. If you're new, use commercial clients or pro bono work.
Certifications & Codes — UEI, CAGE, NAICS, set-asides. Make it easy to find you.
Contact Information — Include a real human's email and phone.
